Fruit Sold At Illinois Walmart Stores Have Been Recalled

If you've recently bought big bags of peaches, nectarines or plums at Walmart, you better check your pantry ASAP because the FDA just recalled a lot of them over Listeria contamination concerns.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's website;

Jac. Vandenberg, Inc. of Yonkers, New York is recalling 1,727 cartons of Fresh Peaches, 1,207 cartons of Fresh Nectarines and 365 cartons of Fresh Plums because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

The Fresh Peaches, Fresh Nectarines and Fresh Plums were distributed in Alabama, California, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia and Virginia

The peaches and nectarines involved in this recall have  PLU#'s of 4044, 3035, and 4378. For more information on this recall and what to do if you have purchased these products, go here.
