Forreston and E-PC Head to State, Byron’s Cinderella Story Comes to an End

The Forreston and Pearl City (E-PC) are headed to the IHSA State finals next weekend.

Galena jumped out to a 20-12 lead at the half, but Forreston would score the game winning touchdown in the final seconds to knock off the Pirates.

WREX-TV reports that E-PC trailed Fieldcrest in a battle of the "undefeated" in the third quarter. Then the Wildcatz turned a 20-6 deficit into a 46-26 lead with 40 unanswered points, winning 46-33 to advance to the 2-A title game against Maroa-Forsyth on Black Friday at 1 PM.

Byron's cinderella run came ended on Saturday after losing by a final score of 46-13 at Wilmington.
