The long-closed CoCo Key Water Park in Rockford will be getting torn down.

I've been asked the question many times. What's going to happen to the CoCo Key building? When they took down the Clock Tower Resort, the former water park was left standing. Would the Hard Rock Casino keep it? There's been plenty of rumors. Now, we know the fate of the facility.

According to rrstar.com,

"CoCo Key Water Resort on the former Clock Tower Resort property will be razed next year to make way for the Hard Rock Casino Rockford entertainment complex."

What will happen to the attractions left behind?

"It is offering to donate whatever water park equipment is still usable to Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Rockford, the former Magic Waters."

Another building will also be torn down to make room for the future casino.

"Hard Rock plans to raze the Forest City Tennis Center, which also sits on the property."

If you wonder what it looks like inside the once-popular tourist site, here's a video from a crew that went in to investigate.
