What Is the 'Festival of Frights'?

If you've ever been to Rockford's 'Festival of Lights' during the Christmas season at Sinnissippi Park, the 'Festival of Frights' is basically its spookier, younger sister.

Not only will you get to drive through cool Halloween displays of lights, pumpkins, straw figures, and more set up by local businesses and organizations throughout Sinnissippi Park, but you can help make sure every child enjoys a happy Halloween for many years to come!

Festival of Fright's Mission

The Festival of Frights began in 2019 with two main goals in mind; to provide a family-friendly Halloween experience for the entire Rockford area, and to raise money to buy Halloween costumes for children in need.

Each year since its creation, the Festival of Frights has added more fascinating displays, more lights, more attractions, and the donations they receive at the end of the trail have helped provide hundreds of costumes for kids in the Rockford area...

When Is Rockford's 'Festival of Frights'?

The Festival of Fright's 2022 season will kick off on Friday, October 21, and will run nightly from dusk until 9 p.m. through Halloween (October 31).

If you've never driven through the Festival of Frights before, prepare yourself to wait in line to get in, especially on the weekends. This drive-thru Halloween display has quickly become a beloved Halloween tradition in the Rockford area, and I promise you it will be worth the wait!

More 'Festival of Frights' Fun

Besides the drive-thru display, Festival of Frights will again feature a Haunted Hills Hustle that the whole family can be a part of before the lights officially go on on October 29, 2022...

In past years the Festival of Frights has also featured other spooky events, like haunted stories and more, so you better keep an eye on their Facebook for more upcoming events!
