Father and Young Son Killed in Roscoe House Fire

The Stateline is trying to cope with the loss of a father and young son in a house fire in Roscoe on Elevator Road. Names have been released. 

The fire happened shortly after midnight at the home at 8438 Elevator Road. The fire apparently started on the first floor of the two-story home. Multiple fire companies were called to assist firefighters.

There were five family members inside the home at the time of the fire. Three people safely evacuated before firefighters arrived. Two others were unable to escape.

According to MyStateline.com, "The Winnebago County Coroner's Office has identified those killed in a Roscoe house fire as Alan Bekielewski, age early to mid thirties, and 2-year-old Orin Bekielewski age 2".

The elder Bekielewski died at the scene while his son died a short time later at the hospital.

The fire remains under investigation by authorities.
