Family and loved ones of Eric Fischer, of Macomb, Illinois, are left wondering where he is.  Fischer has been missing since January 8, 2023.

His girlfriend Rachael Calfee told NBC Dateline she has hope he's alive but is still looking for answers about his sudden disappearance.

I feel like people have forgotten about him. I just want to know that he’s safe.

Rachael said her last conversation with him was on January 6 and he was struggling during those days because of things happening in his life. She made a point to say it was taking a toll on him.

She said Eric expressed apologies and frustration.

Eric was supposed to pick up his children that weekend, but he sent a text to his ex-wife advising against bringing them over. The text had hints of suicidal thoughts.
