The City of Rockford has sent an advisory on expected heavy traffic in downtown Rockford for St. Patrick's Day festivities and a Rockford IceHogs game.

The Irish Marching Parade will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday (March 16) at 7th Street and 4th Avenue in midtown Rockford. Street closures will begin at 2 p.m. and smaller streets that intersect the parade route will also be closed during that time period.

Rockford Police Traffic Control will allow periodic cross traffic at 2nd, 3rd, 6th, and 7th. however, try to find an alternative route.

PARADE ROUTE

7th St. & 4th Ave. → left on State St. → right on Madison St. → Parade ends (Paddy Fest begins) at Prairie Street Brewhouse.

Paddy Fest is from 4-8 p.m. so if you or someone you know is headed to the Rockford IceHogs game (at 6 p.m.), please a few extra minutes in the downtown commute.
