A Christmas lights display in Freeport is being used to collect donations for a local police K-9 program.

According to The Journal-Standard, donations collected from those viewing the nearly 20-minute light show at 703 Chelsea Court will go to the Stephenson County Sheriff Reserve Unit's K-9 program.

The light display, dubbed Christmas on Chelsea, is an annual attraction at the home of Ray and Terri Matthews.

Thousands of twinkling lights are synchronized with music that can be tuned in through car radios in the neighborhood.

Christmas on Chelsea is open 4:30 to 10:30 p.m. daily through the end of the year. A donation box is located at the corner of the lot.

Here are some of the highlights of the 2015 Christmas on Chelsea display.
