As we all search for answers after the tragic events at Don Carter Lanes/Shooters, the community will gather.

This Tuesday night at Don Carter Lanes/Shooters, there will be a candlelight vigil in the north parking lot as we remember those lost after this senseless act. With 2020 coming to a close, getting together as a community to share a moment of silence is a good thing.

This is from the Shooters Bar Facebook Page:

We will gather for a candlelight vigil to honor the victims and pray for their families. As a result of the shooting this past Saturday night. Park in east or west lot gather in north lot. God please be with those families now and forever - Shooters Bar

The power of a candlelight vigil is overwhelming. Unfortunately I have been to too many of these types of events, but believe me when I tell you...attending will be good for you and the entire community. There is something deep rooted and peaceful about not only friends and family, but community gathering to show respect and have a moment of silence. I can remember being at the candlelight vigil for Officer Jaimie Cox and being hugged tightly by a woman and her husband as we all stood silent. I did not know either of them, but one thing that we shared was our love for community and wanting peace.

Don Carter Lanes/Shooters Bar is located at 4007 East State Street, Rockford.
