Beloved Rockford Dog Treat Bakery Is Closing, But Is This Really Goodbye?

I am a proud dog mama of two doodles who I like to spoil from time to time with fresh treats and fun toys, (that's a lie, I like to spoil them of most of the time), and one of my favorite places to get these things is The Canine Crunchery.

If you've never been to The Canine Crunchery located at 1888 Daimler Road in Rockford before, it is a cute dog boutique shop that specializes in fresh and wholesome treats for dogs of all types and dietary needs.

You can get dog muffins there...

You can get dog birthday cakes there...

You can even get pup cups there.

Now that I have you ready to grab your pup and head to The Canine Crunchery, it's time for me to hit you with some not great news.

The Canine Crunchery Announces Closure of Retail Store in Rockford

I was super bummed to see this post float across my Facebook feed the other day, BUT I think there is a silver lining to the announcement...

Taking our pups into The Canine Crunchery store to pick out treats might not be an option soon, but will buying them somewhere else still be?

I think, (and am hoping), that answer is yes.

Future Plans For The Canine Crunchery

In our free time my husband and I have a side business that takes us to many craft and vendor shows throughout Northern Illinois, and The Canine Crunchery has a booth at most of them too.

Will The Canine Crunchery still be selling their goodies online, in other Rockford area stores, and at local vendor shows?

Their closing announcement does say "new things to come", soo....I'm thinking are doggy friends don't have to say goodbye to their favorite fresh treats quite yet. (Fingers crossed!)

We better stock up at the store before April 30 though...just in case.
