Rides, Food, and Fun Await at Byron’s Kick Off to Summer Carnival

Can you believe that the Memorial Day weekend is less than a month away?!? It seems like we were just closing our backyard pool for the season two months ago, now it's almost time to start enjoying it again, and I am STOKED!

Many people, (myself included), view Memorial Day weekend as go time for summer fun, and that means a lot of swimming, boating, eating, fairs, festivals, and vacations are on the horizon.

If you're going to be in the Rockford area this Memorial Day weekend, and your family loves to gorge  on funnel cakes, corn dogs, and fresh-squeezed lemonade followed by some spinning amusement rides and games, the Byron Firefighter Association's Kick Off to Summer' Carnival is ready to deliver the thrills!

Byron's Kick Off to Summer Carnival

My daughters are 9 and 11, so carnivals are a big deal in our house. My girls LOVE going on rides, but not the "big, scary, roller coaster kind of rides", so the rides we see at most fairs and festivals are right up their alley.

One event my girls always look forward to is the Byron Firefighters Association's  'Kick Off to Summer' Carnival which will be held this year on Friday, May 23, through Sunday, May 25 in the Byron Fire Department parking lot at 123 S Franklin Street.

For three days you family can enjoy rides, games, and all the fair food favorite you've been waiting all winter for at Byron's 'Kick Off to Summer Carnival', but this year's carnival will feature something new...a wristband special on Sunday!

On Sunday, May 25 from 1 to 5 p.m. you can purchase an unlimited ride wristband for $30, and let me tell you, taking advantage of this deal will save you a bunch of money, especially if you have more than one child!
