
Blizzard, Heavy Snow in N. Illinois and Wisconsin Within 6 Days?
The last couple of days of this workweek will bring in milder temperatures for northern Illinois with highs expected to be in the upper 50s by Friday (12/8).
But, after that, some weather forecasts are predicting a "crippling winter storm" this upcoming weekend. Let's take a look at what the National Weather Service is saying in their extended forecast for the Rockford region and the Chicagoland area.
Going to Feel Like Spring for the Rest of the Workweek
After highs are expected to be close to 60 on Friday, a cold front will bring rain into northern Illinois on Friday night when the low will be around 38. Rain is likely again on Saturday (12/9) and High temps will be in the mid-40s.

There's a rain and snow mix in the forecast on Saturday night when conditions are expected to be blustery with a low around 28.
Sunday (12/10) will also have more snow, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service.
Blizzard Conditions and Half a Foot of Snow?
There are a couple of different sources that are forecasting "blizzard conditions" from a powerful storm that is slowly lurching toward the Midwest from the Pacific Northwest.
Some European computer models have predicted a major winter storm, and the GFS model "2 feet of snow for our region," according to a Facebook post from the City of Beloit Scanner.
Fox News is predicting snow from "the central Plains to the Great Lakes" and while the locations and exact accumulation amounts are still unclear, the forecast center at Fox says "wherever the band of snow sets up, there is the potential for up to 3-5 inches of snow through Monday."
A forecast from Josh's Severe Weather reported some weather models have snow accumulation predictions of over a foot of snow for parts of northern Illinois and Wisconsin.
