Auburn High School's Class of 2025 is definitely going down in history for doing something epic, but it has absolutely nothing to do with their academic achievements.

Do You Remember Your Senior Prank?

At most schools, senior prank day is a right of passage, and some students take it to extreme levels.

Senior pranks can be messy and destructive, but sometimes they can be genius and hilarious. Here are two of my favorite examples from recent years in Illinois:

Last year, the Class of 2024 at Richwoods High School in Peoria, Illinois hired a bagpiper to follow their principal around for an hour and received national attention. (Genius!)

In 2019 when Oregon High School seniors in Oregon, Illinois pulled off a full week of pranks including putting their school up for sale.

So, I guess "selling" your school is not technically an original idea in Illinois, BUT if you take it way farther than a homemade "for sale" sign it most certainly is.

Now, I wish I could send you to the listing to see it for yourself, but just a few hours after it was published, it was taken down. (surprise, surprise). Since I can't show you, let's just cover the best parts of this epic prank.

  • The asking price of $2,025. No one has come out and said officially this was a senior prank, but we see you, seniors.
  • The listing photos. The listing featured 16 photos that included exterior shots of the school, an Auburn High School Knights bobblehead, a disposable vape in a toilet, instant ramen spilled on carpet, and a yogurt meme. (LOL!)
  • The description. According to WIFR, part of the "item" description said; "External classroom building requires heavy maintenance. Teacher shortage prevalent. Severe lack of *available* bathrooms is noted. Staff and students not included with purchase."

No one may ever know who is responsible for creating the eBay listing, but to all those that played a part in it I say, job VERY well done! How are you going to top this Jefferson, Guilford, and East?!?
