A man remains incarcerated in Winnebago County jail after attempting to lure children into his vehicle at a Rockford park. The details of the terrifying.

According to police reports obtained by RRstar.com, in early May a man was accused of trying to lure children into his car. The incident happened near Grace Reformed Baptist Church on Guilford Road.

Prosecutors say Stone told four different children to come home with him and attempted to lure them into his vehicle.

After an investigation, Police had enough information at arrest 55-year-old Michael N. Stone. He is charged with attempted aggravated kidnapping and child abduction, four counts each. The charges, if convicted, could mean a lengthy prison sentence.

Attempted aggravated kidnapping is a Class 1 felony punishable by a sentence of four to 15 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by two years of parole. Child Abduction is a Class 4 felony with a sentencing range of one to three years in prison.

Stone will be arraigned in mid-June.
