Another Store Closing This Weekend In Rockford

It looks like Rockford is losing the last location of another national chain. Is it making way for a new big box store?

Rockford is losing it's final Radioshack this weekend, according to WREX. The 'source for electronics & related goods' store on Sandy Hollow Road is closing on Sunday, April 30 after the nationwide company announced it was closing 100 stores.

Rumors are we'll see more businesses in the dilapidated Southgate Shopping Center close down to eventually make way for a Walmart on Rockford's southeast side.

The Radioshack in Beloit and Belvidere will remain open for now.
