Another Illinois School Has Closed Due to Flu Outbreak
The nasty flu outbreak that has seems to have taken over the entire World is no joke. In fact, another Chicago Suburb school has closed for the rest of the week due to the flu outbreak, despite doing a thorough disinfecting of the school last weekend.
The Superintendent of Komarek School District #94 in North Riverside, Illinois posted this to their Facebook page yesterday after a number of students and staff became ill.
The best way to prevent spreading the flu is to contain it. Stay home and away from others if you are sick. If your kid has had the flu and you are ready to to send them back to school if they wake up in the morning fever free for the first time in days, DON'T. The Center for Disease Control says;
Keep your child home from school, day care or camp for at least 24 hours after their fever is gone. (The fever should be gone without the use of a fever-reducing medicine.) A fever is defined as 100°F (37.8°C) or higher.
Being sick or having sick kids is a major inconveniece, but if we don't use extra precautions to avoid and contain it, this flu outbreak will keep going stong.
Stay well, my friends!
