Amazon Plans to Hire 2000 New Workers Here in Illinois

2000 new jobs is huge, and it's going to happen right here in Northern Illinois this year.

Amazon.com is in the process of opening up new warehouses in Northern Illinois and plans to hire as many as 2000 people. If you like in the Rockford area, you will have to travel a bit if you are lucky enough to be hired. BND.com is reporting that the jobs will be Amazon's downtown Chicago offices along with fulfillment centers in:

• Goose Island
• Romeoville
• Joliet
• Waukegan (soon to be completed)
• Monee. (soon to be completed)

How much do these jobs pay? According to Glassdoor.com, the average rate is $12.00 an hour with stock option potential

Amazon has not announced when it will be taking new applications o when the interviews will take place. Amazon currently employs 5000 people in Illinois, the addition of these jobs would push the total to 7000 people. The hiring by Amazon will take place over the next 14 months.
