It's the worst-case scenario when you're at a theme park, fair, or festival: falling out of a ride.

That nightmare became a reality for a woman at Plainfield, Illinois' Plainfield Fest last week.

According to the Northwest Herald, the 45-year-old fell out of a small roller coaster she was riding at the festival's private event for special needs families on Thursday evening.

Luckily, the woman only suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from the hospital the same night. Another man was treated for back spasms following the accident as well.

Although the woman was alright, witnesses report that he incident was still traumatizing for onlookers, many of which were children on the autism spectrum.

The cause of the accident was a broken track which made the car the woman was riding come loose from the track.

The Illinois Department of Labor, Amusement Ride and Attraction Safety Division is investigating the incident.
