Last week was tough for a lot of Rockfordians. With the shooting and death of Deputy Sheriff Joseph Keltner along with a man hunt and car chase. It was just so much bad news in a short period of time. Right now, our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Deputy Keltner left behind his wife Becki and two sons. It's hard to put yourself in their place to truly feel what they are going through. Well there is a bit of light at the end of the tunnel though.

The Tunnel of Towers foundation, founded in memory of a fallen 9/11 firefighter, has announced that they have started a campaign to pay off the Keltner family's mortgage. In the last week donations have been coming from all over the United States. Foundation CEO, Frank Siller is calling all Americans to step up and help the foundation complete their mission.

He also said that Deputy Keltner went to work everyday to protect his community and now it's time to do the same for his family.  They are 100,000 away from paying off the family's mortgage. They need your help too. If you want to help click here, it will take you to the Tunnels of Towers Foundations homepage where you can donate to help this family in need
