When I was a kid my mom used to be a garage sale guru. She knew all the hot spots for the best stuff and knew when to get there.

Back in those days, you would scour the newspaper's classified sections and circle or highlight where you would be stopping.

I remember it like it was yesterday, I hated garage sales. The only perk was if i was good I'd get to go rent a movie or Nintendo game.

Even in a world with eBay and Amazon, people are still hosting garage sales. Some neighborhoods and small communities plan the same weekend to host garage sales, creating a "must stop by" location. It's crazy.

Some of the most common items you will find at a garage sale are clothing, home decor, furniture, old sports gear, bicycles, dishes, and sometimes vintage VHS tapes or old memorabilia.

Even with the launch of Facebook Marketplace, it does not look like garage sales will be a thing of the past. Why? Because it feels good selling our crap and it always a great feeling when you get a good deal on said crap.
