62,000 Pounds Of Illinois Beef Recalled Due To E. Coli Concerns
So just when you think the food recall news couldn't get any worse, it gets worse. According to WIFR.com, 62,000 pounds of Aurora Illinois beef was just recalled due to E.coli concerns. So we had a hotdog recall earlier this week, and I can deal with that. But now their taking our juicy steaks. The recall comes from the Aurora Packing company.
The USDA was doing a random test and that's when they discovered the problem. As of now, no reports of illness have been made public. So here's the important information you need to know. The beef products in question were packaged on April 19th of this year and they have an EST. 788 inside the USDA inspection mark. The beef has been sent nationwide so make sure you check your freezer. If you find some of it, either throw it away or take it back to the place of purchase. When I lived in Phoenix, I contracted E. Coli and it almost killed me. It was one of the most excruciating pains I have ever felt. Honestly, my stomach has never been the same since.
Please check your freezers for the contaminated meat. I would not wish E. Coli on my worst enemy. Here is the link to the USDA Website for more information.
