If you are a business owner your mouth is probably watering right now. If not, you are probably confused why anyone, let alone 30 thousand people, would come to Rockford. You are probably also wondering if this is going to put a kink in your weekend plans lol.

According to the City Of Rockford Government Facebook Page, "We're excited to welcome an estimated 30,000 visitors to the Rockford region for the Rockford Raptors Soccer Club's Puma Cup starting this weekend. Puma Champions Cup College Showcase will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 6-8. The Puma Champions Cup will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 13-15. The multi-weekend tournaments will be played at Mercyhealth Sportscore One, Mercyhealth Sportscore Two, Indoor Sports Center and Wedgbury Stadium."

This could potentially be huge for our economy. Just about everywhere in the country that hosts travelling tournaments reaps the rewards.

"These combined tournaments include teams traveling from Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Indiana, Missouri, Iowa, Michigan and Canada. The combined Puma Cup tournament weekends make it the largest soccer tournament held in the Rockford region with an expected economic impact of $1.89 million" ,according to the City Of Rockford Governerment Facebook Page.

What do you think our officials would do with that kind of economic boost? Hot tubs in each of their offices?
