Carrie Underwood and More Up for 2016 American Music Awards
Nominees for the 2016 American Music Awards have been revealed, and Carrie Underwood is at the top of the list of country nominees. The superstar received three nods this year, including one in the all-genre Artist of the Year category.
Underwood will compete against Adele, Drake, TwentyOnePilots and more for Artist of the Year. She's also up for Favorite Female Artist -- Country, against Kelsea Ballerini and Cam, and Favorite Album -- Country, versus Luke Bryan and Chris Stapleton. In 2015, Underwood won her third American Music Award for Favorite Female Artist -- Country; the trophy was her ninth overall AMA.
In addition to his Favorite Album -- Country nod, Bryan is also competing for Favorite Male Artist -- Country, against Thomas Rhett and Blake Shelton; he took the honor home for the fourth time in 2015. Rhett, meanwhile, is up for Favorite Song -- Country, for "Die a Happy Man," as well; the other competitors in that category are Tim McGraw ("Humble and Kind") and Florida Georgia Line ("H.O.L.Y."), the latter of whom are also nominated for Favorite Duo or Group -- Country, along with Old Dominion and Zac Brown Band.
The 2016 American Music Awards are set to take place on Nov. 20. The show will air live at 8PM ET on ABC. Fans can vote for their picks for each awards category now on the ABC website and via Twitter.
