$15 Million of Green and Gold Weed Found in Wisconsin Forrest
Go Pack Go!
This "National Forest" in Oconto County, Wisconsin was the location of a WHOLE LOTTA weed! WPR
I get a kick out of all the big forest preserve busts, these folks never seem to get out in time do they? This one is another great example of that. Chequamegon Nicolet National Forest in Wisconsin was the location of this massive marijuana grow.
This location is no stranger to being a huge grow operation, this is actually the THIRD TIME a field of weed has been found there! A local fisherman happened to stumble across this one and realized this was for sure "fishy" or maybe "weedy."
The authorities were called in and this giant 15,000 plant field was destroyed. (insert sad music) Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation Administrator Ed Wall says this wasn't some sort of high school kids growing pot situation, this was a sophisticated operation.
"They are likely part of an international drug trafficking organization. They were all Hispanic males; some of them we know have direct ties to Mexico." - Ed Wall
The total dollar amount attached to this bust was right around $15 million dollars! The previous busts were quite a bit smaller.
"In the past the sites have been a couple acres of clearings. These sites are smaller, maybe 50 feet long in some cases, some cases smaller, and there are just more of them spotted along the south branch of the Oconto River" - Suzanne Flory representative for the U.S. Forest Service
