Your Christmas Tree Could Have Thousands of Bugs Living In It
As hundreds of thousands other people did over the Thanksgiving weekend, my family went and picked out our live Christmas tree to bring home and decorate. It is one of my most favorite family traditions, but now it's slightly tarnished thanks to a video I saw over the weekend.
We've always bought our live Christmas trees from either the local Boy Scout tree lots or Williams Tree Farm, and they always ask, "would you like you tree shaken and bailed?". I always say yes, because I thought the shaking was only to remove loose needles to minimize the number of needles left all over your car during transport. This is one of the reasons they do it, the other big reason it's done will give you a major case of the willies.
O Christmas Tree, I still love thee, but you better not have bugs or you will find yourself on the curb faster than Santa can eat cookies.
