I guess the virtual run doesn't have to happen in Rockford but the proceeds do help out a local charity.

Dubbed Rockford's oldest 10k, The Heritage Run will go virtual in 2020 due to the coronavirus.

That's not stopping organizers from supporting the Winnebago County Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program in Rockford.

The virtual run is simple, well, at least the sign up is easy. The actual run, whether it be at your home on a treadmill or running solo through the streets of Rockford is the hard part.

Before you get your sweat on, contact the CASA office at 815.319.6880 or register online.

Be sure to run the full 10k, record your time, report it, and results will be posted on-line.

Research says one of the best ways to fight off the coronavirus is to stay active and fit. Running the Heritage Run virtually or otherwise sounds like a perfectly good way to stay healthy.
