As an Illinoisan, hearing about our state's troubles has become a common occurrence. However, I love it when you see things like this. A northern Illinois town just a little over 30 mins from Rockford is defying the odds.
When you think of fall what comes to mind? Changing of leaves, apples, apple cider, pumpkins, corn stalks and of course hay bales. A city south of Rockford is getting creative with a festival that's all about hay.
About three weeks ago I blogged about local artist and sculptor, Fran Volz, building a replica of the Statue of Liberty in Rochelle. Well she's up and is now lighting the way for a new competition in the town.
