Rare Rockford Speedway Memorabilia To Be Auctioned Off Soon

The Rockford Speedway ran its last lap in October of 2023, but this May racing fans will have the chance to score some rare memorabilia and equipment from the beloved race track.

Rockford's First Summer Without the Speedway

For 76 years, the Rockford Speedway provided racing excitement for people of all ages, from all over the Midwest, and I have soo many incredible memories from the time I spent at the track.

Some of my favorite Rockford Speedway moments include; watching races with my grandpa and Dad as a kid, giving away cars, eating chili and listening to live music, even driving a race car around the track in a media race! I had so many unforgettable experiences at the Rockford Speedway, and the fact that those days have officially ended totally bums me out.

Rockford Speedway Memorabilia and Equipment To Be Auctioned Off

Now that the land has been sold and new development has begun, what happens to all the Rockford Speedway stuff?

It's going up for auction!

The Rockford Speedway website says "Everything Must Go" and by "everything" it means:

• The Grandstand and VIP suites
• LED track lighting
• Scoreboards
• Food and Concession Equipment
• Playground equipment
• Signage
• Photos...and more!

When Is the Rockford Speedway Online Auction?

The Rockford Speedway Auction will be held entirely online and begins Monday, May 27, 2024. There will be 4 different auction rings, and all bidding closes on Monday, June 3, 2024.
