The poverty level in the Rockford-area is no joke, that's why local high school girls could use your help.

Prom season is around the corner and that means dress shopping will begin, but not for all the girls going to prom. They're hoping for a fairy godmother to bring them something beautiful to wear to the dance. That's where Becca's Closet comes in - with the help of donations.

If you're not familiar with the non-profit organization, here's this from their website;

Becca's Closet is a non-profit organization that donates free prom dresses to high school girls around the United States.

There are eight donation locations throughout Belvidere, Rockford, Roscoe, and Machesney Park, all listed below. Girls can pick their dress every Saturday through May 6th at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.

Last year 700 dresses were given away around the state line, according to WREX.
