You can drop off your Christmas tree until January15th at 13 locations throughout Rockford thanks to Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful.

Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful is encouraging residents with real Christmas trees to recycle instead of tossing them with their household garbage. The trees will be used to make mulch, which will be available for pickup in March.

There are a few important things to remember when dropping off your Christmas tree, though. Make sure to remove the tree stand and all ornaments. KNIB also asks that you not leave tree bag and blankets.
