Rockford Apple Orchard Ready To Open Friday

If you have been patiently waiting for an annual fall tradition, the wait will soon be over. 

WREX TV let everyone know that the popular Edward's Apple Orchard is going to open this Friday. The Poplar Grove and Winnebago locations will open at 9 AM.

This is the first year for a new type of apple, which is called Zestar.

"Our Zestar are a very new apple, they're delicious," says Orchard Manager Kristin Edwards. "They're crisp and sweet and juicy."

He says that the taste of the new apples are comparable to the Honeycrisp apples.Those apples won't be available till later this year.
