Mount Morris Girl Needs Your Help

The Wake Up Crew had an opportunity to speak to a Mount Morris mom about her daughter and the courageous battle she has ahead. Stephaine Freeze has a daughter named Emmalyn. She is seven years old and has suffered from Chiari Malformation, which has lead to seven brain surgeries. She is now heading to New York City to see the top specialist in the country. If you are wanting to help, there is a benefit that is taking place on September 10th. It is called "Dodge the Ball for Emmalyn". Yes, the movie that featured Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn is the sport of choice for the day.

The event takes place at DLR Jr. High School in Mount Morris. It only costs $80 for a team of 6 people. They are looking for 5 more teams to complete the field.

Also at the benefit, there will be a winner for the best team name and best team outfit. Also, a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, a bounce house for the kids and the delicious Ogle County Pork Producers Pork Chop Sandwiches will be for sale, with all of the proceeds heading back to Emmalyn.
