Miranda Lambert: ‘I’ve Never Felt So Inspired’
Things are looking up for Miranda Lambert. After splitting from ex-husband Blake Shelton in July, the country singer is moving forward with her life and career by celebrating a new milestone: receiving her own star on Nashville's Walk of Fame.
On Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 6), Lambert's name was one of four new stainless stars unveiled in Walk of Fame Park. When speaking to the audience as she accepted her honor, she reflected on her early career, adding that she has never felt more inspired.
"A little more than 10 years ago I had gotten off Nashville Star — which was what I did instead of college — and I was living in Nashville and I made my first record," Lambert remarked. "I got scared and ran back home to Mama. But I moved back here this year and I have never felt so inspired."
Lambert adds that 2015 has been her first summer off the road in years, and she spent that time writing each day.
"I feel more a part of Nashville than I ever have," she admits. "I feel so at home here and so happy, and I am thrilled to have my name on the Music City Walk of Fame."
Friend and former tourmate, Dierks Bentley shared the special day with Lambert and joked that he had "some stories from the road that may not be appropriate at this time, so I'm going to save them for my book and when I can make some money off them."
Lambert became the 70th star added to Walk of Fame Park. Three additional stars were added on Tuesday, including one for Johnny Cash, another for retired Grand Ole Opry executive Bud Wendell and one for musician/songwriter/producer Steve Cropper.
