Despite the Cubs being down in the series, everyone is still hopeful for a trip to the World Series. Especially a person  who isn't human.

WREX.com has a nice story about a tree stump on the end of town in Shirland that is decked out in Cubs swag. In fact, the tree stump has a name, and it is appropriately named Stumpy.

The owner of the stump wants to remain anonymous. But, all thru the year, you can see Stumpy dress up in attire that fits the holiday. I'm pretty sure that if the Cubs make the World Series, Stumpy will be keeping the Cubs attire on thru Halloween.

People are making the trip to Shirland to take pictures with the famous stump. So, if you are making your way there, be careful of people around the tree stump.
