Loves Park Resident Scores $250,000 Winning Scratch-Off Lottery Ticket

A Loves Park resident turned $5 into a quarter-million dollars.

Laura Carroll presented her winning Casino Royale scratch-off ticket to the lottery prize center in Rockford and claimed one of the game's top prizes of $250,000!

According to the Illinois Lottery, she is going to use the money to pay off some debts. Carroll said:

This is incredible!  I am going to pay off all of my student loans.

Carroll purchased her winning ticket in Loves Park at the Phillips 66, 4291 N. Perryville Road.  The gas station, for selling the winning ticket, will receive a $2,500 bonus which is 1 percent of the prize amount.

The Illinois Lottery says the Casino Royale scratch off game is a $5 ticket featuring three top prizes of $250,000. Also worth noting, two more $250,000 have not been claimed, yet.
