One of the biggest discussions that country music faces is "What is country music?". While that question has many different answers, one place you can go to find some perspective is country music's history. Documentary filmmaker Ken Burns, who has produced amazing television shows aimed at the history of baseball and The Civil War, takes aim at the musical genre with his new special, 'Country Music'. The special premieres on PBS on Sunday, September 15.

The 8-part, 16-hour series will attempt to answer the question, '"What is country music?". It will look at the history of the genre and focus on some of its biggest names like The Carter Family, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, and Garth Brooks. It will take a look at where country music began and the stories of the artists who took it there. Needless to say, if you're a fan of country music like we are, then this is a MUST SEE.
