A man who was shot over the weekend on the north side of Rockford has died according to authorities, and now police are asking the public to help find a suspect in the murder.

22-Year-Old Man Killed in Conklin Drive Shooting

Officers from the Rockford Police Department responded to the 2500 block of Conklin Drive around 1:40 pm on Saturday (9/23) for a report of a gunshot victim, and when they arrived on the scene located 22-year-old Jaquone Aldridge with a life-threatening gunshot wound.

Aldridge was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries, according to the Rockford Police.

2 Teens, 20-Year-Old Charged with Murder

Detectives from the Rockford Police are continuing to investigate the murder while charges have been filed by the State's Attorney's Office in Winnebago County against four individuals.

According to the press release, charges of Murder and Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery are against the following:

  • Vondale Pearson, 20 years old from Rockford
  • Alexander Dowthard, 19 years old from Rockford
  • A Juvenile Male, 17 years old from Rockford

An Obstructing Justice charge against 21-year-old Tavares Locke of Rockford was also reported in the press release by the RPD.

2 Arrested and 2 Still Wanted by Police

Rockford Police are asking for the public to help apprehend 2 individuals who were involved in the north-side Rockford murder of Jaquone Aldridge.

According to the press release, both Vondale Pearson and Tavares Locke have been arrested, but 19-year-old Alexander Dowthard is still on the loose and Rockford Police would really like to talk to him.

The 17-year-old Juvenile male charged with Murder is also still being sought, according to the press release.
