If you are over the age of 18, live within 5 miles of the Cherry Valley Fire Protection district, have a high school diploma and drivers license, and love to help neighbors in need, the Cherry Valley Fire Department wants you!

The CVFPD is very near and dear to my heart, and my family history is intertwined in the roots of the department. You will see my great-grandfather's name on a plaque on the wall outside the station located in downtown Cherry Valley. Both my grandfather and father served as Chiefs for the department. My brother was on it, and so was my husband, who resigned from his Lieutenant position when our first daughter was born in 2013 to spend more time with family.

Many of my dearest friends do, or have worn the CVFPD patch proudly, and I am so lucky to have these amazing people in my life. Obviously, to say I am partial to this department is an understatement, so if you are chosen to be a member of this group, you should feel honored. Here's how you can apply to be a part of their upcoming recruit class which begins this March...

Just a piece of advice for anyone interested in applying, if you have any contact with Cherry Valley Fire Commissioner Scott Zimmerman, be sure to tell him how much you love Q98.5. He really likes when people suck up to him. (And he's my Dad Lol!)

Good luck!
