9/11 Memorial, World Trade Center Beams Dedicated in Rockford [Video]

An enduring reminder of the tragedy that took place fourteen years ago along with a tribute to the heroes who gave their lives to save others.It's a piece of American history and it is now in Rockford.

On Friday, two steel beams from the twin towers at the World Trade Center were attached to the Winnebago County 9/11 Emergency Responders Memorial. The Memorial is located on southeast corner of Kilburn Ave and West State Street.

It is estimated that more than 100 residents along with fire and police officials, were on hand for the dedication.

The complete project is expected to be finished by September 11, 2016.
