Your Photo Could be Feature on the Cover of National Geographic

Calling all photogs. If you love taking pictures National Geographic wants them.

One of your special shots just may be feature on the cover of their magazine.

National Geographic, for the first time ever in the magazine's history, is opening their cover photograph to be taken by one of their readers.

If chosen your photo will appear on the cover of their December/ January issue.

They will be taking submissions through today.

The stipulations is that the photo must have been taken in the last five years. Have a strong sense of place. It doesn't have to be of an recognizable location but it should also not be a generic staged landscape picture either.Also, they ask to make sure it's in vertical form or would look good in a vertical format with placement of their logo at the top of the picture.
