According to Mystateline.com, around 1:30 am this morning at the 1000 block of North Court Street, the Rockford Fire department noticed smoke billowing out of a home when they arrived. They quickly noticed a young man on the second floor. After removing him from the home, paramedics and first responders tried to revive him. The man passed way a couple hours later at Rockford Memorial Hospital.

During the fire a firefighter was injured but it was not life threatening. So far it looks like around ten thousand dollars of damage and the cause of the fire is still under investigation. As of now all we know about the victim is that he was 27 years old. As of now, the name of the victim has not been released. It's always horrible to see someone so young lose their life. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victim's family and the firefighter that was injured in the blaze.
