Wow! Here's another great story of a Hometown Hero right here in Rockford.

A local UPS driver jumped into the Rock River to Save a man from drowning.

Jeff Hermansen was driving across East State Street bridge yesterday afternoon around 12:45 when he saw a man in the river below.  Hermansen hustled to the west bank of the river near the PNC Bank branch and jumped in.

WREX News reported that he swam about 15 yards into river and pulled the man to the shore. The man who jumped was taken to the hospital for a physical and mental evaluation and is expected to be OK.

Hermansen, declined any treatment from emergency crews and in fact went back to his route.

Wow! Talk about a humble hero right here in Rockford.

Jeff Hermansen deserves a round of applause for his heroism and bravery.

That's definitely a good deed done well, very well.

God Bless you and thank you Jeff Hermansen.
