Illinois driver services facilities and Secretary of State departments originally planned to close their doors for the first couple of weeks of this month due to soaring COVID-19 numbers.
With the date moving from October 1st to November 1st, this extension includes Illinois licenses, cards and stickers with July, August and September expiration dates.
Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White said he hopes this move will save time at driver’s services facilities, where long lines are standard after weeks of the offices being closed due to COVID-19.
