The days of hazardous driving on what is arguably one Rockford's worst streets is finally a thing of the past. Lyford Road is finally fixed!

On the heels of the smorgasbord of taxes recently approved by the Illinois general assembly, people are asking if a new tax on garage sale proceeds paid by the individual having a garage sale will be next?

We knew this was coming, but now it's official; Illinoisans will soon be paying tax on everything we buy online.

Did you know that if you purchase a Twix bar you pay a 1% sales tax in Illinois, but if buy a Snickers bar, you will pay an Illinois sales tax rate of 6.25% (8.25 % in Rockford).

If you're an avid online ordering guru and love getting deals and not having to pay sales tax, your days are numbered. Soon Illinoisans may be paying for sales tax for any of their online orders.

On Tuesday, Rockford voters will have the opportunity to reduce or maintain the sales tax they pay on goods purchased in the City of Rockford.
