Recently, I've come across many recipes that instructs to put in a pinch or dash of spices and other ingredients. Seriously, how much is a pinch or dash?

The first rule when making any recipe is to make sure you have all your ingredients before you start. I'm usually pretty good at knowing what I have in my cabinets. Although, Sunday I got caught. I thought for sure I had tomato soup for the Unstuffed Pepper Soup, only to find out I didn't. Then I found a quick emergency substitute in making it out of tomato sauce.
