I am a proud Alumni of The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. The Warhawks have won numerous national championships, football games and national recognition. This Saturday, the football team and the city of Whitewater will be featured on ESPN College Gameday, a weekly national college football show that draws over one million viewers per episode, between 8-11 a.m. Here's why.

The segment, which was compiled Tuesday and Wednesday on campus and around the city, is tentatively scheduled to air at approximately 9 a.m. during the program on Saturday morning.

ESPN.com senior national columnist Gene Wojciechowski spoke with head coach Lance Leipold, senior defensive back Brady Grayvold (Norway, MI/Norway) and director of athletics Amy Edmonds for the piece. ESPN's crew also collected video footage from the campus and surrounding community as part of the feature.

Leipold posted his 100th career victory last Saturday in his 106th game to become the fastest head coach in NCAA history to reach triple digits in wins. His achievement received national attention immediately following the game, and will also be covered later this week in Sports Illustrated and by the Associated Press.

There will be some mighty proud fans in the stands as the No. 1 Warhawks host UW-Oshkosh this Saturday at 1 p.m. as part of Homecoming on the UW-Whitewater campus.

GO WARHAWKS! I'll be watching. Set the DVRs.
