For the month of April, this Rockford restaurant will feature a special "420" menu.

If you clicked on this story, it is probably a safe bet that you are "pro" marijuana, so I will not have to explain to you "420."

Just in case you decided to check it out because of curiosity, but you do not know the meaning of the "420" reference, well here is some important information.

According to,

"The term 420 is used to reference pot smoking. While the term was historically used as a "code" to designate someone's activities or beliefs, such as describing something as "420 friendly," it is no longer a secret."

Weed fans around the world celebrate their favorite plant every year on April 20th. It is like a holiday for potheads.

Also, there is one particular side effect of cannabis that relates to this situation.

According to,

"Chemical compounds in marijuana react with the brain to enhance appetite, creating what is commonly referred to as "the munchies."

Of course, that means if you get "high," you are going to want to eat. Most likely, some tasty junk food.

Now, that you are caught up, I can move on.

Illinois became a legal recreational cannabis state, so it is no longer a taboo topic in public forums. It is not just your typical "stoners" talking about "420" and related subjects anymore. It is all over "pop culture" and normal society.

Many businesses are taking advantage of marketing to "pro" marijuana fans because they are more than just your stereotypical "Cheech and Chong" wannabes.

Prairies Street Brewing Company in Rockford decided to get into the fun. Each month, they come up with a special-themed menu. In March, it was St. Patrick's Day and for April they are going with "420."
