Rockford Man Arrested For Shooting Gun in The Air Near Downtown
This guy waved his gun in the air and shot it like he just didn't care. The severe lack of common sense in the world is getting pretty scary. Tuesday night was rather eventful near downtown.
According to WIFR, around 11:30 pm Rockford Police received a call about a man firing his gun into the air on 17th avenue. Just a little bit later the Rockford man was taken into custody after allegedly firing his gun in the air. Although no one was hurt, the man, Jerry Tilly, was arrested, booked and charged with 5 different offenses. The allegations include having no FOID card, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, possession of a stolen gun, reckless discharge of a firearm, and he was also charged with unlawful use of weapons by a street gang member.
Tilly racked up quite a bit of frequent flyer miles for a felon, but I don't think he will be going anywhere anytime soon. He is currently being held in the Winnebago County jail. No word on a court date as of yet. This Rockford jailbird has had his wings clipped.
