Want To Know If Radar Detectors Are Legal In Illinois?

The other day a friend and I were talking about things you see in or on cars very often. Bench seats, cigarette lighters, and antennas on the exterior. Another thing I feel like I haven't spotted in a while is a radar detector. If there is one in the car, are radar detectors legal in Illinois?

Things from the past are hard to find in vehicles made within the last 5 years or so. I mentioned you don't see car antennas much anymore but I should specify. You might think, "This idiot... every car has an antenna." What I'm talking about are long antennas on the hood of the vehicle or retractable antennas. You definitely don't see those often unless it's a classic collectible.

Bench seats used to be a thing in the front seat. I remember getting stuck in the middle in the front and hating it. That awkward hump was never enjoyable and it was worse if the car/truck was a stick shift.

Radar detectors are legal in Illinois. Laser jammers, however, are not permitted. Likewise, radar detectors are not allowed in any commercial vehicle, even if it’s under 10,000 lbs.
