PPE Vending Machines Located At Some Train Stations In Chicago

At some train stations in Chicago, PPE vending machines will be available.

I remember when I was a kid, I would get excited when my parents would let me get something out of a vending machine. Of course, back then, soda and candy were the only things available. Plus, you needed coins.

Nowadays, there are machines that take credit cards. In some places, you can get pizza, marijuana, electronics, and so much more from vending. The industry has really come a long way.

In our new 2020 world, if you want to go out in public in Rockford, a face mask is required. How many times have you gotten somewhere and you realize you forget it at home? It's happened to me a couple of times. That's why I now keep a couple of extra ones in my car, just in case. At the time, it could have been nice to be able to get one before going into the store instead of going back home.

There's also been a couple of occasions where I wish I had some hand sanitizer or wipes with me. Of course, that would take a trip into a store for the whole shopping process.

In both of those situations, a fancy new vending machine would come in handy. There are actually a few in Chicago at train stations. If they go over well, maybe we'll see more in the near future.

According to chicago.suntimes.com,

"In a move to keep its patrons stocked with defenses against the coronavirus, the Chicago Transit Authority will install vending machines with personal protective equipment for sale. The vending machines will contain hand sanitizer, disposable face masks, sanitizing wipes, and disposable gloves. Items that cost between $3.75 and $10."

I think that's a great idea.
